Tampa City Presbyterian Church is a new church taking shape in the heart of Tampa—built around a simple hope: that more people would come to know Jesus, grow in meaningful community, and be equipped to love and serve our city.
How it started
In late July 2025, the Stephen, Kate, and kids moved to Tampa with a desire to start a Christ-centered, people-focused community with a heart to serve the city of Tampa. Soon after arriving, we began gathering a small group of people who shared the same prayer and vision.
A first step: Launch Team and Bible study
By God’s kindness, an initial launch team of 14 people formed. Throughout the fall, we hosted a Sunday Evening Bible Study—a regular place to open Scripture, build friendships, and begin laying a foundation for the kind of church we’re praying to become.
Where we are now
Today, we gather weekly on Sunday evenings at The Barrymore Hotel Riverwalk, where we are training and growing our Launch Team through prayer, community, and teaching as we prepare to plant a healthy church in Tampa.
Where we’re headed
We are praying to launch publicly in September 2026—and we’re taking steps toward that goal with patience, faith, and a commitment to do this work with care.
